Obituary

Annie Pearl Darby Hinton 66, transitioned from earth to glory on October 5, 2020 at Harris Methodist

Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas from complications due to surgery.

Annie Pearl Darby-Hinton (affectionately called Anne) was born on January 21, 1954, in Sulphur

Louisiana. She was the oldest of six children born to her parents, Lindsey Darby ( deceased )and Emily

(Harper) Darby.

Anne attended the Philadelphia public schools graduating from the then all girls high school William

Penn. She later earned an associate degree from Berean Institute and a Bachelor Degree in Health and

Human Services from Ashford University. Shortly following High School, she met and married the late

Thomas Hinton Sr. Although the marriage did not last, they remained friends and co-parents. This union

was blessed with two sons, Thomas Hinton Jr. ( deceased ) and Anthony Hinton.

Along with her family Anne joined the Christian Tabernacle COGIC under the leadership of the Late

Bishop and Mother RT Jones Sr. It was there she developed her singing skills. During her formative years

at Christian Tabernacle, Anne accepted her call to the ministry. Anne was a notable singer, song writer

and ordained minister of the gospel. She sang with many gospel groups including the Christian

Tabernacle Radio Choir, the Savette’s Choral Group of Phila., Gabriel Hardman Delegation, Edwins

Hawkins Music and Arts Seminar and the Fellowship Tabernacle Choir. Anne also sang back up with

Tramaine Hawkins and Yvette Flunder. She traveled across the United States and Europe ministering in

churches, nursing homes, prisons, and the concert halls of Europe. In 1980 she joined the Fellowship

Tabernacle church under the leadership of the late Robert M. Taylor Sr. In 1988 she was appointed

Associate Pastor at the Fellowship Tabernacle Church. She later became Co-Pastor of Ruach Family

Worship Ministries, under the Leadership of Pastor Johnnie Garland.

Anne worked at the United States Post Office, and the US State Department and retired due to

disability. In 2018 she moved to Ft Worth, Texas and joined the Potter’s House Church of Dallas under

the leadership of Bishop TD Jakes.

She was preceded in death by her father Lindsey Darby, her son Thomas Hinton Jr., and (brothers) David

and Emmanuel Darby. Anne leaves to cherish her memories, her son Anthony Hinton, her mother Emily

Darby, her brother Curtis Darby of Den Haag Netherlands, and sisters Esther Darby, Nadine Pelzer

brother in-law Tyrone of Plano, Texas, her granddaughters Nya, and Nyasia Griffin. Her nieces Joy Cox,

April Cox, Dawn Cox, April Darby, Rose Darby and nephews Tyrone Jr., Tyler, Jesse and Jamie, “adopted sister “ Denise Bennett Her Aunt Mae, and Ophelia and uncle Matt and Sam, along with a host of cousins. In addition, her God daughters

Eboni Byrd, Deborah Baldwin Merriweather, her spiritual God mother Gloria Wright, and many caring friends.
