Lisa Morris

Lisa Yvonne Morris was born August 8, 1966 in Milford, Delaware. She was the youngest of seven children born to the late Walter and Lucille White. She departed this life on April 14, 2020. She was 53 years old.

Lisa received her education in the Milford School District. After working for over 15 years in poultry plants and restaurants, Lisa was rendered physically unable to work full time in 2000. Instead of allowing her disability to keep her down, Lisa started working as a caregiver for children and sick and elderly family and family friends. She worked as a caregiver until 2013 when she became completely disabled after a brain injury. In 2016, she began attending Point of Hope Day Program in Smyrna and was a participant in their program until her passing.

Lisa loved her family and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was the “go-to” person for all kinds of advice! She was a lawyer without having passed the bar exam, a doctor without a medical degree, and a social worker without a license! She was one of those people that became all things to all people. Her house always had a “Welcome” mat out front – whether you stopped in for a few hours or needed a place to stay for a few weeks. If there was family with no food or a neighborhood kid without a coat, she did what she could to take care of everyone. She had a heart of gold, but to know her was to know she was feisty too - she’d tell you like it is and help you, all at the same time. She showed the world she was a fighter. Despite injuries and illnesses, Lisa kept overcoming obstacles, proving people and doctors wrong for over 20 years. She is a testimony of God’s love and power and will be truly missed by many! In addition to her parents, Lisa was preceded in death by two brothers: Walter White, Jr., and Anthony White, and one sister: DeFina White.

She leaves to cherish her memory: the love of her life for the last 24 years, Michael Foster; three daughters: Quantara Morris (Robert), Dylissa Bennett (James) and Shanelle Randolph; one brother: Norris White; two sisters: Helen Swafford (Lyn) of Montana and Barbara Ann Jordan (Johnny) of Maryland; two aunts: Margaret White of Virginia and Christina Haynes of Lincoln, DE; four grandchildren: Shariah, Allen, Kavar, and Samira; two cousins who were her closest friends: Jameszena Riddick-Allen and Milton Riddick; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones.
