Thomas “TC” McClain Sr., 84, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2020 in Philadelphia. Thomas was born in Dillon, South Carolina to Josh McClain and Carrie Bell-McClain on October 21, 1935. He was affectionately known as “TC”. He was a social butterfly, gentleman, and known for his generosity in his own right. He went to school in the Philadelphia school system. He graduated from Wanamaker High School in North Philadelphia. He worked as a butcher in a meat warehouse then went on to work as a parking lot attendant from where he retired at the age of 65.
TC was united in holy matrimony to Eula Mae McClain in 1953 in Philadelphia but years later divorced. To this union there were Denise (daughter) and Thomas Jr. (son). TC used to cut hair in the neighborhood part time, loved to take pictures, gardening, and watching old cowboy movies. He was a pillar in the community, and he cared for those around him. Later in life after retirement, he worked at his brother Mack’s unisex salon until 2014.
TC is preceded in death by Josh McClain (father), Carrie Bell-McClain (mother), Leroy McClain (brother), William McClain(brother), Thomas Jr. (son).
TC is survived by Daughter: Denise Jackson (Randolph), Grandchildren: Tamika, Jermaine, Shawniece (Chris), Great-grandchildren: Lovae, Montae, Da’Ron, Isaiah, Tristian, Great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and Godchildren.
